In today's article, we look at the two primary drivers for every business, the customer outcome and your lifestyle goals, everything else in your business will fall under these two foundational pillars, so it’s essential to figure out what this looks like for you
The customer outcome is easy we get it our overall business and revenue is based on the value we bring to your customer, so a deep understanding of our customer wants and needs is critical, then what you sell or provide must be tied directly to those customer outcomes to effectively scale your business, yep we got this but the second pillar is sometimes overlooked. What if you looked at your business from a totally different perspective, one that fits in with your lifestyle goals first? Did you want to...
I do believe life and business are completely intertwined, the lessons we learn, the skills we sharpen and the transitions we make. For those of you who follow my Instagram account you may have noticed two things, I love a beanie hat, I have just moved 250 miles North.
I wanted to share with you a tool that's helping me to cope with the massive changes occurring in my life right now FAITH! I don't mean as in sect or specific religious worship, I am talking about that inner deep down knowing that you CAN do this, which is easier said than done when you are in the transition, or do I mean trenches? When you are in the gap where I am now, between my past and my future with my entire worldly possessions standing quietly in a bright yellow storage unit waiting for the next chapter!
My go-to coping mechanism for any hint of chaos, disruption or change in my life is to work harder, push stronger, basically just light the fire under my situation which inevitably only increases the pressure....
If you are a local business with a product or service to sell then this is for YOU!! Let’s crack Lockdown together, your customers have not disappeared, and they still need to hear from you the question is how?
Beyond the realms of the massive corporates and medium-sized companies that serve the population are the small businesses and the solopreneurs on our local high streets who are struggling to keep going, stay hopeful, and get through this to the other side
We are filming a local business every day throughout the lockdown, in a studio locally where you will be hosted live to share what you do. It’s a visual entertaining conversation and opportunity for you to show your customer your brand product or service, what you do why you do it and how you do it. Welcome to The Vendary - Your Local Business Emporium.
Collaboration is how we work as a human race, so the concept of a collective business platform makes good sense to me. Collectively the local business...
How are you doing this week? It's a funny old-time and no matter how you feel you need to make peace with where you are at. This is where I have been, in my hermit space, horribly uncomfortable figuring things out.
After my crazy house move three weeks from start to finish, totally unexpected, which is typically me, everything I do has to happen in a frantic rush, impatient and last minute don't even come close to describing me
September has always been my crazy month, this year was no exception, a toxic and painful divorce came to an end, I moved from my family home of 11years, my role as mum and provider changed and my beautiful sons moved forwards towards independence, their own lives, it was time for change for all of us.
Don’t get me wrong I have always loved change, I am a Gemini, and we are known for being easily bored so yes I thrive on a challenge, but here’s the thing what happens on the other side? Normally without a blink of an eye, a moment to draw breath I...
Do you set goals as part of your business planning and strategy?
Goals are important because they set the direction or path of your business and life. We are taught to set goals early on in life from parents, teachers and even Business Coaches like me.
I believe you can and should set goals, however, there are conditions. For example, you set a goal to succeed on something and if you do, it feels like life’s a blast, if you don't accomplish the goal and fail you will feel like life sucks!
However, although I think goals are important, rather than oscillate between success and failure, once you have set your goal, forget about it, as the purpose of the goal is only to set the DIRECTION.
Instead, you need to focus all your energy into what you have to do to reach the goal, put all your emotional energy and focus into that instead. When you do this things start to happen and you begin to enjoy the journey.
Think about this, if you want to climb Mount Everest how much time...
*Key Number 2 *. Belief
In order for your business to be successful, you must have a complete and unshakeable belief that you can make this happen, that you can bring this idea to life. Belief is an unrelenting faith that you can do this no matter what and sets in motion the determination within you which spurs you to take the great action necessary to turn your ideas into reality.
Successful entrepreneurs believe with surety that they can handle any situation that comes along and that anything is possible, they take calculated risks based on these beliefs which empower them, drive them forward to work harder, make better decisions and importantly overcome the challenges that come along with running your own business when things go wrong.
These empowering beliefs will provide the necessary support and self-efficacy to focus on finding solutions, to remain calm in difficult situations. With belief Challenges become opportunities to learn and grow, failures become temporary setbacks...
*Key Number 1*. The purpose or Your WHY?
Defining your purpose so that you can gain clarity on what business you want to start or making sure you are in the right direction in your current business is a vital key and starting point for any business owner. Figuring out what you want to do, where you want to go, and why you want to get there is just the same fundamental process of looking at a map and planning your route and destination when you are about to set off on a long journey.
Purpose creates drive unless you have a strong enough purpose for your company to exist it will be all too easy to give up and follow through on the enormous amount of work it requires to get a business off the ground and the stamina needed to keep it going. What drives you? Inspires you? Annoys you? Let that be the spark that ignites your business, that deep emotional connection and the reason that moves you - let that be your driving motivation.
Consider this for a moment, not...
In the past months, the world has changed. One of the biggest financial impacts has been on small and mid-sized companies. Some have had to shut down. Some seemed to have grown in new directions that they hadn’t experienced before. Some are just unsure of their future, how they will operate and what they can now offer.
Its valuable time now to rethink how we look at our current business model. I believe resilience will be the key to our new future. A hunger for results and an ability to move faster than other people will set you apart and set you up for success. This means you will need to show up and show your value to your customers and prospects, It means you need to move fast and ride with the trend.
What happens to small and mid-sized companies now will depend on how you as a business owner operate, how you experiment with new concepts, how you manage your emotional and mental state to move quickly and adapt to your new future.
This is the perfect...
